Canada's official representation in Germany includes the Embassy of Canada in Berlin, as well as consulates in Düsseldorf and Munich. Members of the team work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary and international environment. The role of the three offices and their more than 100 Canada based and locally engaged staff is to develop the relationship between Canada and Germany across a number of areas.

The Canadian Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) is part of Global Affairs Canada and the network of over 260 Canadian government diplomatic and trade offices in about 150 countries, including the Consulate of Canada in Munich. The mandate of the TCS is to assist Canadian companies and organizations to succeed globally by providing them with international trade and business development services.

The Consulate of Canada Munich is seeking a:

Trade Officer (m/f/d)


Aufgaben

Working at the Consulate in Munich, the incumbent will provide strategic market information and market access solutions to Canadian companies looking to export, invest abroad, or develop innovation and Research and Development partnerships. The Trade Officer will have responsibility for a trade sector and related topics and will contribute to the broader delivery of the International Business Development (IBD) program at the Consulate and as part of the Germany-wide team.

Responsibilities of the position include conducting research and analysis of trends, local developments and emerging opportunities that are relevant to Canadian clients; delivering business development activities and events, including supporting official visits from Canada and business delegations to Canada; establishing and maintaining a network of contacts in the public and private sector in Germany to stay abreast of local developments and identify commercial opportunities; and networking to raise Canada's profile as a world-class business jurisdiction while also providing guidance to Canadian companies (particularly small and medium-sized enterprises) looking to enter the German market.


Profil

Essential qualifications include a higher education degree (minimum Bachelors) in a business related field including but not limited to commerce, finance, and economics and an advanced level of English and German, both written and spoken. The ideal candidate has at least two years of work experience in promoting international business development, in either the public or private sector.

In addition, the ideal candidate has experience in organizing commercial or business events for clients and partners e.g., high-profile visits, trade show participation, roundtable networking events or trade delegations and experience in developing and managing client and stakeholder relationships.


Wir bieten

The position is full time (37.5 hours per week) and indeterminate. The minimum salary is EUR 61,925 gross per annum. As per current terms and conditions which are periodically reviewed, additional benefits include a yearly bonus of 13th month's salary and a bonus of a 14th half month's salary, 30 days of annual leave, and a performance based annual salary increase.
