GE Aviation is the leading manufacturer of jet engines for civil and military aviation in the world producing 37 types of engines that power 91 types of aircrafts. In addition, the company produces engine derivatives for propulsion of ships and power plants, and renders services (through GE Engine Services) in the field of repair and maintenance of aircraft engines.

We are now looking for an expert in the field of Product Management who will be responsible for value creation through full life-cycle ownership of the products and services within the Commercial Laser Product Lines. This position will manage the product portfolio of that product line for growing product revenue, margin and overall share in the global market.
Aufgaben Roles and Responsibilities

  • Be accountable for the products and customer offerings within the product line, driving direction in all matters related to margin, revenue, share and investment. You will be accountable for the overall product line budgets, profits, and loss.
  • You work across a highly matrixed organization (sales, marketing, technology and supply chain) and ensure collaboration and teamwork in delivering a quality product to our customers.
  • You are responsible to develop terms and conditions, training specific to this product line, pricing, margin and EHS for the program to be deployed to the partners, including segmenting based on expertise.
  • You collaborate with product technology owners and solution teams to normalize / prioritize requirements, account for regulatory compliance trends, simplify the way we deliver to the market place, project sales with accuracy, and be accountable for manufacturing delivery.
  • You will be responsible developing and implementing a monitoring program to ensure quality and compliance, undertake the necessary corrective and preventive actions resulting from Quality noncompliance monitoring and audit programs.
  • You anticipate and identify the long-term needs and opportunities for the business in order to create significant market power and sustainable competitive advantage.
  • You identify growth opportunities via adjacencies, alliances, and partnerships.
  • You collaborate with the marketing team on product positioning in the external marketplace and developing collateral for sales support. You support the sales force with market strategy.
  • You frame and communicate the value proposition and measure against competition.
  • You monitor the health of the product value in terms of e.g. competitive landscape, positioning etc.

Profil Qualifications/requirements
  • Commercial mindset, combined with healthy technical background is mandatory
  • Customer acumen, strong interaction skills towards customers
  • Manage people in the matrix and influence via indirect leadership
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related discipline from an accredited university or college and /or equivalent experience
  • Strong experience in product management, marketing, engineering or portfolio management
  • Professional experience in manufacturing industry and/or similar industrial environment
Desired characteristics
  • MBA and strong financial acumen
  • Track record of creating and executing impactful strategic initiatives and plans and leading their execution on a global level
  • Knowledge of 3D industry and customer base is a plus but not mandatory
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and team building skills; proven ability to work well in a matrix environment
  • Executive level presentation skills
  • Relevant experience leading or managing projects of various size, duration, and scope and across geographies
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Clear thinker with an ability to focus on the “critical few”
  • Exceptional people leader capable of both driving and motivating global team members to succeed
  • German language skills preferable
